Friday Night at Logan's
Friday at Logan's Roadhouse
My Latest Adventure

Vera Jones - Feb 14, 2006

Well I had a blast at Logan's this last Friday.  I went with my friend Mykel to scope out the scene.  We met up with a couple of guy friends.  We sat at a booth directly behind the bar.  This affords a real good view of everything going on, except for the patio which sucks anyways because it is really small and the smokers pack it out.  So if you don't smoke you can't go outside for fresh air because there is none- way too toxic.

The thing about Logan's is that it seems to me it attracts the prettiest people out of any bar in  Fresno - does this mean more attractive people like country music than any other type of music? That's all they play - but it's not too super loud so if you don't like country you can still tolerate it.  Or maybe good looking people just really like peanuts.

The bar is pretty cool. It is a perfect square.  The service isn't that great though.  I've been there four or five times now and packed or not it seems like you have to wait forever for a drink.  They usually have two bartenders on weekends, but I think they should have three or four.  At least one for each side of the bar.  And there doesn't seem to be any cocktail waitress either, though maybe that is just on the nights that I'v gone there. There was this one cool bartender though, he gave me what looked to be a double shot of Jim Beam for $5.75.

One thing that is weird is they have the coolest bouncers I have ever met.  They all have good attitudes.  It seems most bouncers are pretty pissed off most of the time.  Maybe it's because they have to deal with a-holes a lot, but I think it is just a personality thing.

The food is really good, The last thing I ate there was New York Steak with a Baked Sweet Potato. Delicious.  Everything is a la carte and I like that.

Anyways we split with our homeys and took a seat up at the front, right next to the door.  If you want something a little more intimate there are booths all over that give you a little more privacy. Good for a date, only wanting to socialized with your crew, or are just anti-social.

We were there for about an hour, maybe an hour and half which was just about enough.   Logan's is a pretty good starting point for your night.  Overall we had lots of fun, it's casual with a good atmosphere so ch-check it out.

(I should mention that though the service is slow the bartenders are really nice)

Logan's is located on the corner of El Paso and Blackstone across from River Park.
